CHAPTER SEVEN

WAGING WAR FROM THE MOUNTAINTOP

Who has ever heard of a commanding general sending his troops into a hostile country, in the midst of a terrorist battlefield, without first strategizing a well-designed operation? It would be a foolish general who would not at least first consider the terrain and the enemy which they were dealing with. A wise general would scout out the land, find the weak points of their enemy, and adjust their plan accordingly. They are not going to send their soldiers into a battlefield without first finding out what they’re dealing with, what kind of terrain they will be working on, and seeking the counsel of others to orchestrate a plan of attack. The general wants his soldiers to be effective, not slaughtered. This tactic is an important one for the body of Christ. We need to effectively recognize the terrain we are dealing with in this age we have been assigned to. If you are reading this book, it means you are alive and breathing, and therefore you have been appointed to this age of history. When you look around you at the state of the world, you may feel unqualified, but rest assured your Commanding General in heaven specifically assigned you to this territory, He knows the DNA inside of you, He knows you have what it takes, and He has given you the equipment needed to conquer the terrain you have been assigned to. It is important, however, that we understand the terrain we are living in, and by doing so we can prepare and equip ourselves in such a way that we begin to see the fulfillment of our strategic prayers by subjugating the enemy’s control over the land we live.
